INTRODUCTION
The Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster isn’t just a supercar—it’s a rolling timestamp of one of the wildest eras in Lamborghini history. Built in extremely limited numbers and hand-finished in true Sant’Agata style, the VT Roadster captures everything we love about analogue V12 Lambos: the theatre, the brutality, and the unapologetic presence. Instantly recognisable, with just the sight of it making the day of anyone who is lucky enough to cross paths with it. This sensational example is one of a very few Australian delivered roadsters, with comprehensive and recent mechanical works completed by Lamborghini main dealer service centres, extensive provenance and the correct colour combo - it is an essential addition to any collection.
VEHICLE HIGHLIGHTS
This 1999 Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster is one of just four Australian-delivered examples, representing the final and most refined evolution of Lamborghini’s iconic Diablo line.
Delivered new on the 24th of October in the year 2000, this particular Lamborghini is believed to be originally owned by Australian tennis champion Mark Philippoussis. It was also showcased at MotorClassica 2013, celebrating the marque’s 50th anniversary, where Valentino Balboni (former chief test driver of Lamborghini) attended and hand-signed the inside panel of the door seal.
Finished in Super Fly Yellow over Nero black leather, the car presents in outstanding original condition, with its distinctive removable carbon-fibre roof and 90’s retro aesthetic.
Over the last 12 months it has undergone extensive main dealer maintenance at a substantial cost of over $70,000 including a brand-new clutch ($22k) carried out by Lamborghini Sydney. The car drives superbly. Accompanied by its factory books, toolkit, tyre inflator, and service records. A rare opportunity to secure a 90s era defining supercar that is not only incredibly iconic but carries real significance when it comes to automotive history and global car culture.

MODEL HISTORY
The Diablo VT Roadster, launched in 1995, was Lamborghini’s first open-top supercar and the company’s first to feature all-wheel drive through a Viscous Traction system capable of sending 25 percent of torque forward.
By 1999 the Diablo received its final and most comprehensive update: fixed headlamps, variable valve timing, ABS brakes, revised interior, and aerodynamic refinements.
Only ≈ 100 examples of the 1999 VT Roadster were produced globally, making it among the rarest modern Lamborghinis.
As the final open-top Diablo before the Murciélago, it represents the end of an era for purely analogue, hand-built Lamborghini engineering.
FINAL SUMMARY
An exceptional example of one of Lamborghini’s most dramatic and collectible models, this Australian-delivered 1999 Diablo VT Roadster represents a rare opportunity to own one of the most significant supercars in automotive history. With recent and extensive mechanical works, including a new clutch it stands as a truly investment-grade example of Lamborghini’s final analogue V12 icon.
