The Ferrari F8 Tributo marked a significant moment in Maranello’s history when it debuted in 2019 — a final flourish for the brand’s celebrated mid-engine V8 lineage before electrification began reshaping the prancing horse’s future.

It was a “tribute” in name and purpose: a farewell to the most powerful iteration of Ferrari’s award-winning 3.9L twin-turbo V8, as featured in the 488 Pista — here tuned for 530 kW and 770 Nm. With 0–100 km/h in 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 340 km/h, the F8 was a direct challenge to McLaren’s 720S, but offered more emotion, more heritage, and a more visceral soundtrack.

The car borrowed extensively from Ferrari’s motorsport and aerodynamics programs, integrating the S-Duct from Formula 1, a new rear diffuser, and reworked front intake geometry to deliver 15% more downforce than the outgoing 488 GTB — all while shedding 40 kg.

Design elements also paid homage to icons: twin round tail lights echoed the F430, while the louvred Lexan rear window channelled the spirit of the F40. Inside, the F8 ushered in a refreshed dashboard and infotainment system while keeping the driver-focused cabin pure and uncluttered.

With Ferrari’s move toward hybrid power beginning in parallel with the SF90 Stradale and 296 GTB, the F8 Tributo will likely be remembered as the last of the truly analogue-feeling mid-engine Ferraris — with twin-turbo torque, rear-wheel drive, and no electric assistance.
