Model History

The R8 LMX was Audi’s final and most focused evolution of the first-generation R8. Limited to 99 units worldwide, with just 15 in right-hand drive and only 3 delivered to Australia, this example is the only one in Audi Exclusive Matt Daytona Grey to hit our shores. When initially released to the market in 2006 the Audi R8 with its stunning , futuristic and progressive design became an instant icon. 8 years later and the LMX marked the end of hugely successful production run in December 2014.

Powered by a 570 hp 5.2L naturally aspirated V10, it delivered 15 kW more than the V10 Plus and revved beyond 8,500 rpm.  Paired with Audi’s S-tronic dual-clutch transmission and revered Quattro all-wheel drive, it reached 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds. The most powerful generation one R8 produced, ever.

The LMX (Le Mans Exclusive) was the world’s first production car with laser high beams, directly inspired by Audi’s Le Mans program. With ceramic brakes, matt carbon aero, and Audi Exclusive treatment throughout, it marked a high-performance farewell to the original R8 before the transition to Gen 2 in 2015.
