The Future Classic.

‍

INTRODUCTION
‍

Most 991.2 GT3 RSs have lived the life Porsche built them for. This example, however, has covered just 431 kilometres.

That alone would make it both special and incredibly rare. But then, the specification makes it much more interesting. Weissach Package, lightweight forged magnesium centre-locking wheels and PCCB: three of the most desirable factory performance options available on the 991.2 GT3 RS, combined here on one car. All three of the big boxes ticked, and many more options on the lengthy spec list.

CHROME TEMPLE offers an exceptionally rare opportunity to own what is highly likely one of the most desirable 991.2-generation RSs in the country. And with the entry point for a 991.2 being so attractive, is now the time to acquire one?

Ultra-low kilometres, massive “trifecta” specification, impeccably preserved… this is the definition of a future classic.

‍

VEHICLE HIGHLIGHTS

With just 431 km from new, this Australian-delivered 991.2 GT3 RS starts with three things that cannot be recreated later: condition, specification and kilometres. Its time-capsule condition is matched by a factory specification built around the highly desirable trifecta of Weissach Package, forged magnesium wheels and PCCB, three of the most important performance options available on the model.

The 991.2 was the first GT3 RS offered with Weissach, bringing further lightweight carbon-fibre components through the chassis, body and interior, while also allowing buyers to specify the optional forged magnesium centre-locking wheels. PCCB completes the performance trio with 410 mm front and 390 mm rear ceramic discs and distinctive yellow callipers.

The PCCB dimensions are directly confirmed by Porsche’s technical data.

Finished in Black (A1 / colour code 041), the exterior is a comparatively understated interpretation of an otherwise extroverted RS. With this one, it’s all in the detail. Satin Black magnesium wheels sit beneath the bodywork, allowing the vents, aerodynamic elements and fixed rear wing to define the shape. Full paint protection film has helped preserve the exterior throughout its exceptionally limited use and its subtle satin black side decals add further detail.

Inside, Black leather is paired with extensive Alcantara detailing, contrasting yellow stitch and 918 Spyder-derived carbon full bucket seats. Racing Yellow seat belts echo the PCCB callipers, while white instrument dials and a white Chrono stopwatch add contrast. Leather extends across the dashboard, transmission tunnel and steering-column casing, with Alcantara sun visors and belt outlets and illuminated carbon-fibre door sill guards completing the cabin.

Behind it all sits Porsche Motorsport’s 4.0-litre naturally aspirated flat-six, producing 383 kW at 8,250 rpm and 470 Nm at 6,000 rpm, with a maximum engine speed of 9,000 rpm. Power goes exclusively to the rear wheels through a seven-speed PDK transmission, while rear-axle steering and an extensively ball-jointed suspension arrangement give the 991.2 GT3 RS the precision expected of the badge.

Those exact power, torque and engine-speed figures are factory correct.

Porsche Centre servicing is recorded throughout, with the most recent visit completed at Porsche Centre Willoughby in June 2026 at 392 km. Porsche warranty has also been extended through to June 2030.

MODEL HISTORY

The GT3 RS has always occupied a different place in the 911 range. The first road-going GT3 RS arrived with the 996 generation in 2003 as a lighter, more focused extension of the GT3. The 997 generations that followed developed the idea further, adding more aero, reducing weight and pushing the chassis closer to Porsche Motorsport’s competition work.

By the time the first 991 GT3 RS arrived in 2015, the formula had changed considerably. The car adopted the wider body of the 911 Turbo, a 4.0-litre naturally aspirated flat-six and, for the first time in a GT3 RS, a seven-speed PDK transmission. Rear-axle steering, Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus, a magnesium roof and extensive carbon-fibre bodywork made it considerably more sophisticated than the RS generations before it.

The 991.2 GT3 RS, introduced in 2018, was less a reinvention than a thorough refinement of that package. Its naturally aspirated 4.0-litre flat-six produced 383 kW and 470 Nm, 15 kW more than the preceding 991.1 GT3 RS, and revved to 9,000 rpm. The chassis received similar attention, with ball joints on all suspension arms replacing conventional elastokinematic bearings, while rear-axle steering was recalibrated to sharpen the car further. Porsche quoted 0–100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 312 km/h.

Its capability was proven at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, where Porsche works driver Kévin Estre recorded a 6:56.4 lap over the then-standard 20.6-kilometre configuration on road-legal Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tyres, approximately 24 seconds quicker than the previous GT3 RS.

The 991.2 also introduced one of the most important additions to the modern RS options list. For the first time on a GT3 RS, Porsche offered the Weissach Package, increasing the use of lightweight materials through the chassis, exterior and interior, including carbon-fibre anti-roll bars and coupling rods. Choosing Weissach also allowed buyers to specify the optional forged magnesium wheels, reducing unsprung mass further over the standard aluminium set. Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes sat alongside those upgrades as another significant factory performance option, making the combination of Weissach, forged magnesium wheels and PCCB particularly important within the 991.2 catalogue.

The result is one of the defining GT3 RS models of the modern era: naturally aspirated, rear-wheel drive, capable of 9,000 rpm and developed with the kind of chassis focus expected from Porsche Motorsport. As the final evolution of the 991 GT3 RS, it occupies an important point in the history of the RS badge.

‍

‍FINAL SUMMARY

This example starts with the number that is hardest to ignore: 431 km from new. It was delivered new in Australia and specified with three of the most important performance options available on the 991.2 GT3 RS: Weissach Package, forged magnesium wheels and PCCB. Add all the extra options on the comprehensive spec sheet, Porsche Centre service history and the four-year Porsche Approved Warranty extension completed in June 2026, and very little is missing from the specification.

Then there is the 991.2 itself. A naturally aspirated 4.0-litre flat-six making 383 kW, revving to 9,000 rpm and sending everything to the rear wheels through a seven-speed PDK. It is one of Porsche Motorsport’s most focused modern road cars and the final development of the 991 GT3 RS.

What sets this example apart is how little of that performance has ever been used. Preserved in time-capsule condition, it remains an Australian-delivered 991.2 GT3 RS with just 431 km from new and the specification collectors look for.
